Zanatto's Family Market

Zanatto’s Family Markets boasts of three different convenient locations, one in Santa Clara, and two in San Jose, one in the willow glen area and one downtown. In addition to being a market that carries some of the freshest produce around, many specialty foods, and a lot of premade meals, there is also a restaurant style display of Panini’s, sushi made fresh everyday, and what can only be referred to as an epic salad bar.

Zanatto’s offers a variety of different European-style Panini’s. There are multiple different vegetarian options such as eggplant Parmesan, mushroom and grilled veggies, all of which are smothered in melting cheese. Additionally, there are many different meat sandwiches like a pulled pork, steak sandwich, chicken, chicken and bacon, and even a crab cake sandwich. Of those, I would strongly recommend the Tuscan style Panini, which has chicken and bacon, and the crab bite sandwich filled with layers of crab cakes. For only four to seven dollars per sandwich, you get a much higher level of quality then any other sandwich vendor in the local area.

Zanatto’s salad bar puts any other salad bar I’ve ever seen to shame. It has all of the usual salad fixings and then some unique additions that make it the high quality that it is. Instead of your tradition chicken and bacon as a protein option, you choose from different meats, crab, shrimp, and tofu. They have a beautiful display of produce, and add things like edamame, avocado halves, and sprouts. For some added crunch there are many different toppings or sides of rolls and bread sticks to complete your meals.
